Attorney

Aliyah Surovec is an accomplished attorney focusing her practice on family law and criminal defense, bringing extensive courtroom experience and strategic insight to every case she handles. She began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney for Colorado’s 4th Judicial District, where she singlehandedly managed a caseload of over 600 criminal cases, regularly leading hearings, negotiations, and trials. This demanding role sharpened her ability to think quickly, advocate decisively, and handle high-stake matters with professionalism and precision.

Following her tenure as a prosecutor, Aliyah transitioned into private practice, where she continues to apply her litigation background to protect and advance her clients’ interests. As an associate attorney, she has developed and executed case strategies in both family law and criminal defense, representing clients through all stages of litigation, including motions hearings, evidentiary hearings, settlement negotiations, and jury trials. Her experience on both sides of the courtroom gives her a powerful advantage in anticipating opposing strategies and delivering results-driven representation.

Aliyah is known for her strong legal research and writing skills, meticulous trial preparation, and client-centered approach. Her dedication to excellence has earned her numerous academic and professional honors, including graduating magna cum laude from the University of South Dakota.

Outside of the courtroom, Aliyah enjoys traveling the world with her husband, spending time with family, riding motorcycles, cooking, and maintaining an active lifestyle. She has a particular passion for exploring Europe and the Czech Republic, where her husband is from, and values experiences that broaden her perspective both personally and professionally.
